I installed the plug in and it is absolutely gorgeous and does exactly what it's supposed to do. There is one small problem, however, posts in some of my categories will not display when you click on them individually, you just get a blank page. When I deactivate the plug in the problem resolves itself.

I would really like to use your plug in but can't as long as this problem continues. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I love this plugin but is there any way to stop it from functioning on my mobile site? It covers content and readers are complaining.

Dear Sirs:

I, too, have noticed and appreciated the NYT flyout, and it is good to see something similar available. My question: Can this be implemented on a regular website, i.e. not a WordPress blog?

Thanks! James Wiese

Ideas for next version:
1 - option to omit the category appears
2 - Option to write text as : this interests you ...
2 - The color of the title

Thanks, great job!

Here are our best options:

a) We give you access to the original plugin. You can update anything you want and add your name to the authors (feel free to place your name first).

You then remove your plugin from the repository. First, you may want to tell your users your plugin is being discontinued, though, and point to the original plugin as the future product.

b) Change the name of your plugin. PrevUp? Or preferably, something else entirely?

c) Merge the two plugins. I don't know how this is done within the repository, but if there's a way, it's probably the best solution.

More information on forking: <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fork_%28software_development%29#Forking_free_and_open_source_software" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Wikipedia - Forking Open Source Software</a>.

Next time you want to contribute to a plugin, just ask. Rarely will an open-source project tell you "no". Forking is generally seen as a waste of time and energy. It only makes sense when the developers are MIA.

No hard feelings, though. Let's get this issue solved quickly and happily for everyone.

Marcin wrote: "I don’t take a name, only a part of name. “upPrev” is based on “upPrev: NYTimes Style “Next Post”"

You didn't take just a part of the name.. you took the most important part of it.. the one which make this plugin unique.. the part which can easily distinguish this plugin from others. With such politic you are providing misleading information to every single user.. when the first time I saw some post, I thought that Jason changed repository, but not, it wasn't that.. someone simply thought - why not to use the popularity of a current plugin and create an extended copy of it, with a shorter name.. shortened to the word, which is generally meaningless, and it was created for the purpose of a plugin.. why didn't you choose a NYTimes word? Everything what stands after the upPrev is rather a description, than the name itself.

I would say that upPrev has nothing special. At many different websites supported by many different CMS you can find similar functionality. I guess upPrev was the first solution which tried to mimic that functionality in Wordpress, and I guess it's quite popular right now, but I think the popularity didn't come just like that. It was some time ago, but I remember, that after launching it, information appeared at many different sources. I think Jason put some hard work to popularize it.

Currently someone (you) appeared, revised the code and added some extra options, took the most important part of the name, and he think everything is all right. No, it's not... from one simple reason - the name. upPrev will remain upPrev.. currently it doesn't matter what description you will add, people remember it as upPrev.

I don't know.. maybe we should wait until one from your solution become really popular? I hope that the name won't be a single word.. then we gonna shorten it to the most unique one, we will add few more features, and we are going to advertise it on every page where we can find your comments. How are you going to feel?

You should think about that.

No need to apologize... just glad I stumbled upon it!
As to the other plugin using the name of yours... some nice options, but don't like that he is piggybacking... so I'll stick with yours!
Thx for a nice plugin!
